  1. I've added to your quote above with my personal thoughts on bits of your post What I personally would not mind seeing is maybe 2 or 3 check boxes on the background/skin tab to "enable/disable" visuals in the skin saved under specific names. kinda like the old orb/kai anim , or NXE swirls in that old dash LOL
  2. XbMovie blows , it can barely make a decent 10 second clip on my real XDK, and your lucky to get 1/10 vids to complete with success on any other modded system,,at least in my experience anyway,, tbh native recording will just never be on 360 it does not have the balls ,,I have read even XDK GB (1gb ram) systems have issues making good use of the program. PVRs n such are to cheap to make it worth a programmers hassle to make something that will only work half ass at best in the end. As swizzy said the built in anim is an image morph, which produces some really cool random results on various images,, my moon skin for example combine those 2 and you get some wild stuff LOL,, but all in all these skins are merely concepts to show skin makers that it can be done and open a few creative doors for others to build on this concept as they can tear these skins down and see how it is done on a simple scale I would agree this would be at the right bottom of my list ,,you guys have already given the users a ton of customizing options without having to add all the extra scenes and junk that FSD had to edit skins and all,, to me skins that have animations or major custom look or layout really should be used just for that, a change, something different to look at for a bit Thanks for all the comments guys, if any skin makers out there need any info on how to do these simple anims feel free to ask!
  3. tried that, it became quite dizzying tbh LOL,, but I may put out a version that way for others to try out , or maybe put up a tut on how to make simple anims like this so others can expand on the idea.
  4. gavin is spot on with that info page, I personally would recommend using the XeBuild Update server, for me it is the only way to update these days, most consoles can be done in under 2 minutes and requires no file transfers. thread specific to that update method. http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/2205-xebuild-freeboot-nand-update-tutorial/ I would also recommend that if you do not have a current nand backup MAKE ONE NOW!!! it can be done using the same server setup, using this CMD line xeBuild client -v -i %HOMEPATH%\Desktop this is my cmd log from a nand dump , only takes 17 seconds LOL
  5. This is just the default aurora skin with an animated smoke background, everything else is stock. It looks pretty cool with loads of background pics not just greens, I will make a more complex and cleaner smoke pattern for later releases, but for now it does the job I'm not going to do any major work on these designs atm as I'm already seeing hints of v5 on the boards here, maybe once these guys decide to take a break but for now i'm going to put out a couple new skins and a couple I'm going to redo from some old skins that people used to like back in the day More.. VIDEO CLIP Sorry vid freezes in middle, xbmovie is crap lol Many thanks as always to the dev team and site staff for their outstanding work!! Enjoy, begal CannAurora.rar
  6. Thank you kindly, though I did just test these out on my other system with a large full drive, and it stalls the loading anim badly until it finally kicks to the main, so I will see if making it a skin visual in a scene instead of grouped in the background area will make it work properly or if I'll have to ditch the splash anim for now and toy with it later,, either way I will update here with a fixed version shortly.
  7. This is just the default aurora skin with an animated background and a slightly altered game title bar, everything else is stock. I'm not going to do any major work on these designs atm , maybe once these guys decide to take a break but for now i'm going to put out a couple new skins and a couple I'm going to redo from some old skins that people used to like back in the day (yea im talking FSD2 days LOL ) More.. VIDEO CLIP Sorry vid freezes in middle, xbmovie is crap lol Many thanks as always to the dev team and site staff for their outstanding work!! Enjoy, begal moonNstars(0.5b).rar
  8. I know this seems kinda silly to make a thread over, but I thought I would at least acknowledge it since i found this to be one of the coolest things ever, at least from my supernerd perspective Awesome work on this app especially the UI, loving it more and more everyday! Huge props and much respect to the dev team!
  9. Hello RMS, here is a little thing I do to all my xui file lists. This modification simply allows a list to wrap from top to bottom, and bottom to top. I find it handy especially if you have large lists of files on your consoles drives and always find yourself scrolling forever for your "X" file Here is a screenshot of how it's done on any xui list so anyone making skins can add this to their work if they find it handy as well For example the path to find the list is as follows in "Aurora_FileManager.xur" FileManger\FileManagerTabScene\Tab1(or Tab2)\ContentContainer\FileList Here is the Default 0.4 Skin with only the wrapping list feature added Default - Wrapping list mod.rar
  10. I know my post was becoming a wall LOL so I decided to add this info as a new post to ease in others finding it if needed , hopefully swizzy does'nt slap me for it An example of my sketch as I start in on this main Normal TransFrom A 40x618x0 40x736x0 B(f)40x678x0 40x796x0 B (v)40x678x0 40x796x0 X 240x618x0 240x736x0 Y 240x678x0 240x796x0 Bk 1040x618x0 1040x736x0 St 1040x678x0 1040x796x0 Hopefully I typed that all out right from my notes LOL you should get to see the pattern here is a GIF demo of it http://gyazo.com/a6c0734b889a496862578d9e5ac81bdc and the main Aurora_Main.rar
  11. Ok I see , you want that section to drop just like the default, but due to the buttons being moved they then return to their original side/location when you transition from "normal" to "TransFrom" in each of the sets of transitions to and from this scene and it's overlays. I will work up a Main and get it to you to use as an example showing how I would do this on the first few transitions ,then you can take that and run i'm sure, it looks like your well on your way basically you will need to relocate each button you move to the same location at the start and end of every set of transition frames, I usually do this by handwriting notes out on a sketchpad of all the items new locations , it's quick and simple and allows you to keep proper track of each items locations without lots of backtracking in the timeline as you edit the next one. Using the timeline and it's components can be a very difficult thing to do with others via writing as few to none of us are professionals at using these XUI tools so even going on the documentation a "common language" for explaining these things can prove hard at times, I know many times I have worked with other skin makers and we will call an item, tool or object two entirely different things but somehow find common ground to work out what we want to create, you are so very right , I was addicted , still am many years later, especially when we get great new apps like Aurora to toy with or I have created a new one of my own
  12. That's kinda what I had figured , good to know for sure it is at least possible , Swizzy always got the top tips and info
  13. I'd like to help you out with this if possible, however I'm having a hard time seeing what it is your trying to do from your description , if possible can you provide a screenshot or 2 of what your doing (if possible use paint or similar to mark points you want to move etc). Most around the x360 scene know i've been making skins since xexmenu and FSD1.2 LOL so I'm pretty sure I can help you work out whatever your after also just noticed your location, I live about an hour from you in MI
  14. IMO removing the mod would be foolish ,, no offence at all intended but sounds like this could very well be above your skill level to accomplish at the present time as you will need to buy flashing tools, soldering equpment, and do lots of reading to accomplish this properly. at the least keep the modded box to test games before buying them to save wasting money on junk games ,,then just get an unmodded console to play with your buds ,, or sell it and you'll have enough for a new console and a game or 2 3 main things to consider 1. If you do not have an original NAND backup from before the console was modded (as far as I know) you cannot go back to retail. 2. You have to properly burn disc games or they will not boot or will throw errors , simply burning the "jtag rip" game files to a disc breaks the security and will not boot on a retail console (in case this is how you have backed up your games) 3. Either way playing on a retail you will be paying for every game and every DLC (aside of a VERY small amount or DRM free content) if you do decide to unmod the box (again I totally disagree with) If you need I'd be glad to help you out with a list of steps and tools you will need
  15. I will PM you my nand(s) and all logs in just a few moments, thank you for the standalone as well Also yes it is an RGH1 jasper 256
  16. I am unsure why this console is getting this error when using the update server on the newest build , it has been updated using this system since it's release a few dashes ago all have gone without a hitch. Here is the error after connection I have since used " xeBuild client -v -i %HOMEPATH%\Desktop " successfully to dump my nand and keys, manually updated the console and all is working fine. I really prefer to use the automated method so I don't have to do the extra messing with avatar data etc. I see this note below in the DL readme, but I'm unsure if this is the issue being described or not since dashlaunch itself updated just fine "- some well used NAND images with earlier versions of DL already installed seem incapable of being updated with larger sized files, it is recommended for the time being to make a clean NAND image with the most recent/up to date image builder if you run into this issue" If I can provide any further information that would help I would be glad to also on a side note any chance of a stand alone xex of the v3 server? sometimes im just to lazy to scroll and push a button in dahslaunch UI LOL (but seriously it is nice for a quick nand and key grab) EDIT:: just for the sake of it I tried to run the update again (after manually flashing the update) in hopes of not having to do avatars via USB and now I get this error
  17. Thanks for more great utilities as always Swizzy
  18. Yet another awesome round of updates!! Huge props and many thanks as always to the phoenix dev team
  19. Thank you to the xebuild team for everything , it is greatly appreciated
  20. Very nice round of updates here , great work! Much respect and appreciation ,as always thank you to the dev team
  21. Very nice round of updates here guys , as always greatly appreciated , keep the awesome stuff coming
  22. Thank you for this swizzy, very nice round of updates, personally I especially appreciate the fact that you keep your projects open source, this really gives us less knowledgeable devs some great examples to learn from! ,, again thanks for all your great work
  23. You might want to go to more of a game modding site, these forums don't really have much to do with trainers.
  24. Hello all , here is an ultra fast way to get a nand backup and your keys in testing I dumped my JasperBB in as little as 12 seconds, here's how!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hINpkBoFgI 1. Grab the files attached to this post and move the update server to your console 2. Connect PC and console to the same router/network 3. Run the Xebuild update server by launching "default.xex" on your console (you will get a black screen with some text ,leave this running) 4. Run the "GetNandAndKeys.bat" file on your PC and within seconds you'll have your nand and keys on your desktop NOTE: If "GetNandAndKeys.bat" fail for some reason, use the "GetNandAndKeys_ForceIP.bat" file(be sure to edit your consoles IP into the file with any text editor) No reason anyone should ever neglect making nand backups with this method available!! I take no credit for any of the program itself I only created the .bat files to automate the process a bit Huge thanks and props to the XeBuild team , all the staff and devs here on RMS, and especially JPizzle for his update tutorial using the XeBuild update server,, found here http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/2205-xebuild-freeboot-nand-update-tutorial/ I encourage everyone who uses this software to send a small donation to the XeBuild team at donations@realmodscene.com and help them help us keep our consoles running safe and strong XeBuild Update Server v1.rar XeBuild Quick Info.rar
  25. To save you some possible hassle in a couple ways,, 1. you won't get support on these forums regarding 16756 as Team Xebuild has not released the official files , the ones floating around the web are patched up versions of previous builds 2. I recommend only using the official XeBuild releases (latest being 16747) , that being said, use this method to update http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/2205-xebuild-freeboot-nand-update-tutorial/ , It's can be done in 2-3 minutes or less and requires no file transfers or extra storage devices , by far the easiest way available otherwise if you wish to use the old flashing method I have attached swizzy's tool below, but I will not provide any info on 16756 as I know the staff and devs here do not support it's use due to the current only viable use being online play. Simple_360_NAND_Flasher_v1.3_BETA.rar In a quick look I couldnt find the official thread on these forums for the program, but please drop swizzy a like or a thanks for his work if you use and appreciate his software http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/3472-simple-360-nand-flasher-by-swizzy-v13-ou-v12/#entry26180
