  1. Back in the day I used that pdf to find an uninstalled 3 pin fan molex port on the front of the old xenon boards. I used it to wire in a nice 9v intake fan, good info to have.
  2. Hadn't heard this about 360 live getting shut down next year. I'd guess there will be a deluge in demand for hacked consoles once the one reason for not getting RGH is removed. Will also put those idiots over at XBLE out of business. Sounds like a win-win for the scene.
  3. That looks fantastic! Any chance this could run on retroarch 360? Yeah, I didn't think so either...

  5. It sounds like your laser is dead. I would just replace it. They cost around $5-$8 on ebay. Pot tweaks don't always work and are generally a very temporary fix at best.
  6. thank you for posting this, xecuter's link is down in their tutorial section
  7. I think fatxplorer works great, I've never had any of the problems I used to have with other, less developed apps.
  8. Thanks begal! I now have a good reason to put dosbox back on my 360!
  9. I've been meaning to ask about the whole universal devkit thing. If anyone could turn their console into a devkit would there even be a need to hack it at all? Couldn't we easily distribute homebrew software on forums like this and then sideload it onto our dev machine? I'm probably just misunderstanding some core concepts here, but what additional functionality would you get from a hacked console that you couldn't get with a devkit?
  10. Awesome share, much appreciated! Thank you Swizzy and MaesterRowen!
  11. I doubt you'd want an old xenon, they are notoriously unreliable. Most will last you a few months before they die on you.
  12. I found a great tool that works well for reformatting your ps1 games into a .bin format for those of you who are having file issues running games as a zip or otherwise. The progam is called pakkiso and I was able to use it to batch convert about 200 games into bins all at the same time.
  13. Couldn't you just check your I.P. address in Aurora to verify internet connectivity?
  14. Do you have a stock hard drive installed? If not, you are likely lacking the necessary files needed for the Xbox 360 to run the original Xbox emulator. There is already a tutorial on this site dedicated to the problem you're describing. It was the second one from the top in the tutorial section in the forum. It can be found here: http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/35-how-to-play-xbox1-games-on-your-jtagrgh/ In the future, it will likely be useful to you to check the tutorial section before starting a new topic as most of the problems you're going to encounter have already been faced and resolved by those who have come before you.
  15. Now that I understand the issue I just had a thought, the FATXplorer program has a function that allows you to extend the amount of memory on a usb drive beyond the limitation imposed by microsoft. You have to pay for the program and then the guy who makes it will send you the files you need via email after you request them. I'm not sure if there is any compatibility issues between different brands/sizes of drives, but it may be worth a shot.
  16. Hi Nelskeet517, deep breath, relax, everyone has to start somewhere. Congratulations on getting your first RGH up and running, soldering one of these puppies up is no easy feat for a first timer! There are a lot of great tutorials for getting you up and running in this forum found here: ttp://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/forum/10-tutorials/ and if you click on the Xbins button at the top of the page it will have a load of homebrew and emulators that you can download in one easy to browse location. You'll also find Xexmenu there as well.
  17. Hey denzx09, you're not the first to have difficulties with a 3TB, unfortunately, the Xbox only supports up to 2 TB of memory. If you want to use a large drive on the 360, go get a refund and get a 2TB instead! On a side note, you could probably use 2 2TB drives just fine.
  18. Does the internal HDD have this same limitation?
  19. carter84 don't worry about being a noob, everybody had to start somewhere! You'll want to put your original dvd drive back into your system at some point, like swizzy said, the dvd trays are locked to their original motherboard. Although you can swap out dvd keys, it is a little more advanced than you may be ready for right now. You'd probably save time and money by buying a new laser off of ebay (make sure it is for the same model of dvd tray that your xbox 360 uses, because microsoft used many different models of dvd trays throughout the 360's lifespan). If the dvd tray you used as a replacement is the same model, you could just switch out the boards (easy if it is just ribbon cables, not as easy if you have to solder/desolder wiring) or you could pull the laser off of your new dvd tray and use it as a donor for your old dvd tray assuming the lasers are the same type as well. Swizzy is the best there is, just do exactly as he says and I guarantee you'll have your box running in no time!

    Jtag for sale

I've got a Xenon Jtag for sale. Console only, $50, I'll pay shipping if it is inside the U.S. P.M. me for details. Finally dual booted my stock to make room on my shelf for an Xbone.
  21. On phat consoles I set my temps in dashlaunch to at least as low as 65. I also wire in a 70mm laptop fan inside the case using 9v pulled off of the DVD tray, just above the gpu heat sink extension. This significantly increases airflow and helps dissipate heat. As an added bonus the console runs much quieter when the rear exhaust fans aren't doing all of the heavy lifting themselves.
