What do I need

Recommended Posts

First, I know you are going to say search it's out there, and I have been, and may already have it figured out, but before I drop dollars on hardware/supplies, want to make sure I am getting what I need.

have a 360 slim 4gb with a Corona board. I already HDDHACKERED an aftermarket HD.  If all I want to do is to be able to put and play games, offline, on the internal or external hard drive, what do I need to do. I am donating the Xbox to an afterschool program. I dont want to have to use discs, as they get scratched and end up being no good, especially in an afterschool program setting. I have 2 xbox's I am goint to do this with, so I would like the ability to connect 2 together with a switch and maybe have halo battles, etc, but they will never be online, or have live accounts, they will mostly be for offline, single player games.

I have a brand new J-R Programmer V2 already. I know I should search, and I have, thoroughly. I have 2 xbox's I want to do this with, one is an older phat model, and one is a 360 slim 4gb made in 2011. Is there something that I can buy that will work on both. Is the J-R Programmer all I will need, as on the product page, there are several add-on's mentioned. Will I need to flash my DVD firmware to accomplish above tasks? Do I also need the 4GB R/W kit in addition to the J-R Programmer.

I have seen references to CR4 XL, Demon, etc. I am very comfortable soldering, taking apart unit, etc, I just do not want to buy the wrong things, etc. I just want to play games off my hard drive. Looking currently at the CR4 XL, it says it does RGH2+, RJTAG+, JTAG, but then the J-R Programmer V2 and the TX Slim Trinity QSB are listed as optional?  Is my J-R Programmer not going to be all I need to purchase? For playing games off Hard Drive, do I still need to worry about the DVD Firmware?

Also, what does the initial's CB stand for in all of the tuts talking about dashboards.

Thank's in advance.

the QSB's aren't needed.. some can be unofficial and cause more harm.. but that said.. you mentioned 2 boxes.. but only stated the mother board for 1.. demon isn't needed.. CR4 XL is a great piece of hardware.. but there are others that work fine.. the "optional" stuff is if in case you dont have em.. and just forget about the DVD firmware.. as it's pointless.. in the sense that you dont want to use discs..

For the 4GB Corona Slim, you'll need a 4GB R/W Kit and a chip such as the CR4 XL (this is one of many alternatives) the 4GB R/W Kit is for reading/writing the motherboard software of that particular model (it's different from everything else)

The JR-Programmer will work with your phat, and anything that doesn't have the name "4GB Corona" or "4GB Winchester" (the later can't be hacked at this time)

Regarding what the initial CB stands for, it's a bootloader in the NAND dump (motherboard software) which is different for each model of console and each dashboard version (they update it every now and then to block hacks) depending on which CB version you've got, you can use different hacks...

What you should start with is probably the phat, dump it and check what CB version it has then we can tell you what you need to get things working for what you want on both boxes... you already have the hardware you need to check this, and it's the only one you really need to check right now, i recommend starting with this one as it's most likely easier then the corona ;)
