[Request] Please add folder size information

Recommended Posts

I think its very useful when you can see how much space a folder itself take. This time only the size of a single file is shown but not from the whole folder.

A Problem too is that also FileZilla does not show the size of a folder ><

Filezilla would be it's own thing.. that has nothing to do with Aurora, even FlashFXP shows folders as 0 bytes until you dig down them.. BUT this is also for PC setups.. the only real way to see the size, in Windows for example, would be to right-click and select properties, then it will total up the size..

It would take alot of computing power to get the size of each folder, no system ever actually have folder space shown... they do if you open a details screen, but never in the "normal" view...

Only for the filemanager / filebrowser and maybe you can cache this informations so the needed power is not so much ?

If it's to stay anywhere near accurate, it'd need to loop every single folder down from the location you're at followed by checking the size of every single file... sure, it can be cached in memory... but, it's not really worth the effort as most ppl won't give a shit about it anyways

Do you plan to support Samba in Aurora? Size of  folder support in explorer.

Yes, there are plans to implement a Samba server, with that it's actually Explorer that does the size information by iterating every file, every folder when you want it...

Thenks for answer. Just one more question, sorry off topic, do you plan to support sync  clock on startup ?

It should already do that as long as you have a internet connection, Wifi might not work fully, so try using a cable instead if you're experiencing a problem with that
