a few jtag noobie questions/clarifications :)

These are a few random issues I'm working on, hope this is an ok place to post these -

Multi-disc games - To me, there's two types of multi-disc games, right? There's the type like Dead Space 2 that has two discs for the actual game and then there's a game like Borderlands game of the year edition which has two discs as well but if I'm not mistaken, one disc is the game and the other is the dlc. What I'm getting at is when installing these games (i'm using dvd extract in fsd with original game discs), do I set the game paths up the same for both types of these multi-disc games? Example would be - USB0/Xbox 360 Games/Dead Space 2/Disc 1 + USB0/Xbox 360 Games/Dead Space 2/Disc 2. - USB0/Xbox 360 Games/Borderlands/Disc 1 + USB0/Xbox 360 Games/Borderlands/Disc 2. I mean, I understand Dead Space 2 should work correctly when set up like this, but will the Borderlands game of the year edition dlc content on disc 2 be accessed as well when set up like this? Only reason I'm asking this question is because I've read that the dlc must be saved onto the actual xbox 360 hard drive or something (but maybe that's when it's actually downloaded from xbox live? i don't know) and it's kind of confused me. So I've been asking myself, do I set the game path like I showed above for both types or should I be saving the dlc disc(s) in another location? I have the xbox 360 slim 4gb system and am running everything from a 2tb external usb hard drive. One last question, assuming that I can set game paths per example above for both multi-disc game types, when they show up in my xbox 360 games list as two games, does the hit "Y"/move to/nowhere or blank thing work to eliminate seeing two game/covers for one game without any problems?

Hard drive partition/game saving - I have the xbox 360 slim 4gb system and am running everything off of a 2tb external usb hard drive. The hard drive is already formatted to FAT32 , so can I make a partition within this external hard drive that the xbox can read just for game saves? I understand how to make a partition, but if this is possible (i'm pretty sure it is, right?), how do you do it and get the xbox to read it? And also, is 32gb the maximum I can make this partition for game saves?

Game covers - I've been able to connect to the internet fine and get the covers for my xbox 360 games and xbox live arcade games, but there's one xbox 360 game (Dante's Inferno) that just won't display/download the cover. I've hit "Y" and "refresh artwork" on the game probably 25 times lol and have made sure I'm connected to JQE360 before and after doing this. So I've gone onto the JQE360 site (which I guess is now xboxunity) and have found that actual game cover and have hit the "push to xbox" tab which then says "added to que". What does that mean and what do I do from there? I've added it to the que, which I'm thinking will send it to my xbox when it's linked to the site, and have gone back and refreshed artwork on the particular game afterwards but it doesn't seem to work. I also don't see anywhere on the site where I can actually view my que. Is there a step I'm missing? I'm also trying to get covers for my emulators by doing the same thing and that isn't working either. Solution? I don't mind unhooking the external hard hard drive from xbox, popping it into my laptop, and dropping a downloaded cover into a game/emulator folder to get it to display properly if I have to (basically doing it manually), just need some direction on how to do it that way if it's easier.

Thanks in advance and my apologies for the long post!, just trying to be as clear and descriptive as a newcomer can be facepalm.gif

Formatting your external HD on Xbox 360. You then have a small FATX partition (32GB) for all your Save Games, Xbox 1 Emulator, Dlcs.

@ gonzo

so info regarding dlc being played from external is incorrect at link below (op has posted multiple threads instead of 1 large one),or can dlc only be played from external hdd if it doesn't exceed a certain amount of gb there by making 360 think it was an mu,i was under impression an external hdd wasn't capable of using dlc & instead required internal or mu

@ op

you need to link xbox to unity & possibly enable the auto retrieve thingy,,me i just hit scan manually since i don't have it set to auto, any covers missing i use web browser to install,i've only used push to xbox once & that was under the old site

install missing covers manually by using web browser by logging into 360 using 360 ip address then type 360 address into web browser, should work if 360 is set up correctly

It's not a FATX partition, or even XTAF (as it is on Xbox 360) it's a virtual device stored in a hidden folder named "Xbox 360"

You can use the USBMU for it, but not the external harddrive as-is, in the early days (pre 2.0.9199.0) we didn't even have USBMU, in those days it didn't work... it should however work from USBMU now a days...

The virtual device is XTAF aswell i think, but, it's still nothing more then a virtual device stored in data blobs in a hidden folder, it's not at all a partition :p
