Suddenly Covers won't update

Recommended Posts

Hi. So, at first when I bought my 360, I hacked it and moved games to my 500g external HD, created game paths, set link to jqe360, and the games worked fine and same with the covers. But then suddenly now, 2 months later, Covers won't refresh and won't download! I really have no clue what must have caused this, but here are the things that MIGHT have caused it

1) Covers wouldn't work when I moved Fifa Street into my game library

2) When I helped a friend get his jqe360 account, I disconnected from mine on my pc, created one for him, and then logged into my own account. After I got suspicious that this might be the cause of the problem, I created an entirely new account and linked it in my 360, didn't help one bit

Whenever I try to update games who already had covers, get their covers deleted. Now, this is pissing the fuck out of me, so any help would be extremely appriciated. Thanks in advance

Another thing to note is that I have an RGH and not a JTAG and I a running FS3

You should try managing your game paths (in the settings menu). Try the following: Delete the game path you have now. Change the name of your "Games" folder (or however you have called it) on your external HDD to for example "Xbox 360 games". Reboot the console. Add a new game path to the renamed folder. Reboot FSD and it should work. If it doesn't, report back here.

The most likely problem is that you've updated dashlaunch, and your previous configuration didn't mention anything about livestrong, this sets the default value (enabled) which has shifted in recent versions (iirc last version?) anyways; check this... if it still fails i'd make a total cleanout of the settings for your F3, that's done by starting XEXMenu or something that isn't your current F3 installation and delete the "Data" folder of your F3, once you've done that, all you have to do is set your scanpaths again... you don't need a "JQE360" account to download covers... and now a days a JQE360 account means Xboxunity.net account

Firstly thanks to both of you for your answer. Now, I have a couple of questions, please excuse me for being a noob because I'm not very good in this kind of stuff

1) So Mith, what your suggesting is basically to change all of my game paths and change my games folder name? how would that solve the problem?

2) I have no memory of updating anything in my xbox, ever. I don't recall touching something called dashlaunch, is that Freestyle Dash? It is possible that I changed my background once and I changed it back since, if that's what you mean

3) What is livestrong? lol, sorry, I didn't really understand. You said "if it still fails" what do you suggest I do with livestrong?

4) What does deleting the "Data" folder do? does it deleted F3 from my xbox?.....

Also, I know JQE360 account meaning xboxunity, that's the account I create the link with in my JQE360 settings on F3

1. He's telling you to remove them from the configuration, moving the folder and re-adding them, i don't really see how that'll solve the problem etheir...

2. It's part of your NAND, it's used to launch applications (F3 for instance) when you start your console instead of the regular dashboard which is also known as NXE

3. livestrong is a setting in Dashlaunch, it's used to block ALL microsoft DNS's, i suggest you disable it if it's enabled...

4. It deletes the settings and such, it's part of F3 and contains your database with all your settings and game paths etc. deleting this essentially resets F3 to it's original state

Can I delete my data folder using file manager? because I don't have xex menu :p

Nope, you can however do so with another version of F3, Aurora or whatever (Aurora with FTP)
